Lately, Dongfang City’s coastal area’s international solicitation for conceptual planning and urban design has found a winning proposal. The joint contender lead by China Urban Development Planning and Design Consulting Co., Ltd. (referred to as China Urban Planning) stood out in the proposal collection and won. As a cooperator, ZEHO ECO provided specialized ecological planning services to China Urban Planning and provided advanced technical support based on ecological concepts and science for the eco-environmental protection and research in Dongfang City’s coastal area.

From the perspective of constructing the Hainan Free Trade Port, the conceptual planning of Dongfang City’s coastal area explores the urban construction and development direction of Dongfang City and provides strategic positioning and guidance for the coastal area’s urban development and relevant approaches through coordinated research of the city’s 133.86 km-long coastline and urban coastal zone, as well as the conceptual planning and detailed design of its 9.56 km2 coastal area.

The winning of this project is an effective result of our company’s implementation of the “symbiotic city” concept, laying a foundation for the future development of sustainable urban design business led by ecosystem construction. It is also a practice of science to actively implement planning and design to guide urban development and realize the harmonious symbiosis of a complex ecosystem made up of the city, the environment, and the economy.
