Tangshan People’s Park project is located in the northwest of the central urban area，it is the only large comprehensive park in the northwest area. This site is divided into four juxtapose blocks by urban roads from Northwest to Southeast, with a total area of 40.4 hectares. On the one hand, the green space is intimate with surrounding residents as a result of surrounded relationship by residential communities；On the other hand, inheriting culture context is the important public attribute as this site was the Tangshan military airport which played an important role during the earthquake-relief period. Design plan of Tangshan People’s Park is based on the concept of “weaving urban culture and catalyst happy life”, we excavate and display the earthquake resistant history of the airport to create a people activity-friendly space. Creating people-friendly activity space and providing diversified cultural activity places.

Citizen’s Garden
The park is composed of three-level park road and jogging path, and a landscape floating bridge connects all the blocks to achieve a convenient three-dimensional traffic connection.. Multi activity spaces such as citizen stage, cultural and creative Plaza, children’s activity venue and stadium are arranged, and intelligent services and interactive facilities are integrated to make garden activities full of science and technology and happiness.

Cultural Garden
Tangshan military airport was awarded the honorary title of “model station for earthquake relief” by the Central Military Commission because of its excellent rescue during the earthquake period. Although the airport has been shut down. The spirit of indomitable struggle by the people of Tangshan during the historical period of earthquake relief will last forever. We use the landscape language to integrate the distinctive history and culture of the site into the park, reproduce the memory in a simple but profound way, and make the park a gentle and sensitive delicate space.

Scenery Garden
The park builds urban forest by means of near natural planting, with green native plant as the base and plays the ecological benefit in the form of community. Flowers and fragrant plants are intensively planted near the node to pay attention to the feelings of nearby people. At the same time, sponge facilities such as rainwater garden and sunken green space are designed at the roadside forest edge to realize scientific rainwater and flood management.
